Mrklin H0 - 3034 - Electric locomotive Series BR E41 of the DB. Some background information: The Baureihe 141 (Known as the E41 up until 1968) is a standard electric locomotive (Einheits-Elektrolokomotive), designed for the light passenger transport services of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) with a top speed of 120 kmh. In this role they proved extremely reliable and efficient. The locomotives were developed after World War II, and built by a consortium of multiple manufacturers. Namely - the superstructure was built by the Henschel works at Kassel, also by the Munich-Allach works of Krauss-Maffei, and the Krupp works at Essen: and the electrical installations were built by AEG, and by BBC and also by Siemens. In the fall of 1952 the first locomotive - the E10 001, rolled off the production line at the Krauss-Maffei and AEG works in Munich-Allach. From these prototype locomotives the following locomotives were developed and built, these were the series E40, E41, and E50. In the 1950s - d ue to a lack of locomotives, the Series E41 locomotives also used for express transport. In the early 1960s the speed limit was increased to 140 kmh, and thus they were no longer required in this role. The last four locomotives were withdrawn from service in December 2006.
